Introduction time! I'm Lo. If you don't already know, I'm a beauty guru on YouTube under the username of thebeautyLodown. I created this blog mostly to reserve the username thebeautyLodown, but now that October is upon us, I thought I would participate in Blogtober! Now, if you aren't familiar with Blogtober, it's where you have to blog every single day during the month of October. :)
I'd hate to waste a whole vlog just on my introduction, so I thought maybe I'd talk about something else... perfumes I've been loving lately Now, if you watch my YouTube videos, you know that my absolute favorite perfume of all time is Daisy by Marc Jacobs.
($62 for a 1.7 ounce bottle)
Daisy is "fresh and feminine, with a playful innocence", according to sephora.com. The notes are strawberry, violet leaves, ruby red grapefruit, gardenia, violet petals, jasmine petals, musk, vanilla and white woods. It's floral without being too heavy and it lacks that perfume-y smell that I detest. The fragrance is potent without being too overpowering and lasts all day. Honestly, this is my favorite perfume ever!
Although I love Daisy, I recently received a sample of Michael Kors Very Hollywood perfume, and I have to say that it is probably going to be my next perfume purchase.
($45 for one ounce)
Notes are mandarin, gardenia and vetiver (and I have absolutely no clue what that one is). I don't like the way this one smells in the bottle at all! It's one of those perfumes that needs to adapt to the natural oils in your skin before it smells good. I love that this one smells one way on me, but smells a little different on my mom (who loves it too).
Another sample I received lately and I've been loving is Dior Miss Dior Cherie.
($60 for one ounce)
Notes include Italian mandarin, Egyptian jasmine and patchouli. I think it smells sweet, but not too sweet, and slightly floral. I've been wearing this every day since I received my sample, and today when I went shopping, I checked out a full sized bottle. But when I sprayed it on myself, it smelled COMPLETELY different than my sample did! I'm a little bummed about that and I don't exactly know why it smelled different... I still have some thinking to do on this one.
Though it isn't a perfume, I've been love love love love LOVING my Paris Amour body spray from Bath and Body Works.
($12 for 8 ounces)
The top notes in this are mandarin, petite strawberry, cassis, pink champagne, apple blossom and dewy freesia. Some of the other notes are peach, jasmine petals and sandalwood. This is such a lovely scent, I really can't describe the way this smells to me! I own absolutely everything in this scent (I do mean everything: the lotion, the shower gel, body butter, etc) but the actual eau de parfum bottle.
So by writing this blog post, I learned that I seem to like jasmine and mandarin in my perfume scents! I never realized that before. Weird, huh? What are your favorite perfumes?
Happy Blogtober! I love you,
Lo
