Blogtober, day two! Today's post is about a new mascara from L'oreal that promises “lashes that appear fuller, longer, curled and sculpted”, according to the L’oreal website.
Meet the newest member of the Voluminous mascara family: Voluminous False Lashes.
I was a bit nervous about the fibers in this bothering my sensitive eyes the first time I used it. To my surprise, they don’t bother me or fall into my eyes. What I did notice, however, is after about six or seven hours of wear, they do start falling underneath my eyes. But this mascara gives my fair, thin lashes so much volume that I hardly mind the slight fallout. It really does plump up your lashes, but it doesn’t offer too much length. I also feel like my lashes lost their curl after a few hours of wear, which was disappointing, especially because my lashes have a slight natural curl already. I LOVE the packaging, it feels luxe and expensive. Reminds me of a YSL product.
Overall thoughts: If you’re looking for tons of volume, meet your new best friend. If you want length, this may not be for you. I’d give this mascara a B, because while it does give me tons of volume, I don’t like the fact that it doesn’t hold curl well. For a grand total of six dollars (I bought it at Wal-Mart) I think it’s definitely worth checking out. Will I repurchase? Maybe, but I have other mascaras I want to try first (Benefit’s They’re Real! and Lancome Hypnose Drama). I hope this was helpful to some of you and until next time…
I love you,
Lo
